How It Happened

A chippy game between the MASCAC foes, the score remained scoreless through 25 minutes of play. Then, in the 27th minute, Calvert and Cooley executed a perfect give-and-go with Cooley lobbing a pass over the Lancer defense, which Calvert beat, and after a short dribble in the box, he beat Schneider to give the Buccaneers a 1-0 lead. Maritime led by the same score at the break.

In the second half, just under seven minutes into the period, Cullivan scored the Bucs second of the game on a tight-angle shot from the left side of the goal, and he buried it in the bottom right corner on a pass from Kennedy. Despite being outshot and giving away seven corners to the Lancers, the Buccaneers held their 2-0 advantage for the remainder of the game and opened Homecoming Weekend with a victory.
