How It Happened

In the first half of the season opener, the Buccaneers outshot the Pride 9-1 and controlled the possession for much of the half. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes, and the match went to the half tied, 0-0.

For the first 30 minutes of the second half, the game remained scoreless. Then, in the 75th minute, on a short corner by Turmel, Munroe fired a shot from the top of the 18-yard box and found the top left corner of the net to give the Buccaneers a 1-0 advantage. Six minutes later, in the 81st minute, Moore Jr. delivered a ball into the box from the left side of the field and found the head of Cooley, who buried the ball in the back of the net to make it a 2-0 game. Off the ensuing kickoff, Calvert raced downfield to take the ball from the Regis defender and chipped the ball over the keeper into the bottom right corner of the net, giving the Buccaneers a 3-0 lead with eight minutes to play. Maritime held on to win the match, 3-0, and make it three consecutive wins over Regis since 2023.
