Kane Named Little East Conference Men's Lacrosse Player and Offensive Player of the Year
NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Little East Conference announced its men's lacrosse postseason awards on Tuesday morning. The 2026 LEC Champion Buccaneers were well represented, and senior captain Daniel Kane earned the conference's highest honor, claiming the Player of the Year, as well as Offensive Player of the Year. Kane also earned a spot on the All-LEC First Team
This is Kane's first nod as the conference Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, and his first appearance on the All-LEC First Team. In 2024, he earned second-team honors, and in 2025, he was an Honorable Mention member of the All-LEC Teams.
In 2026, Kane scored 43 goals and added 39 assists, for a total of 82 points. He picked up a career-high 42 ground balls and caused a career-high eight turnovers. During his historic senior season, Dan set new program records in Points, with 257, passing Denis Shea who had held the record since 1997. He also became the second player in program history to record 100 goals and 100 assists in a career, joining Mike Derosier '02.
Kane will graduate as one of the best offensive and overall players in program history. He helped this program grow exponentially over the last four years and assisted in leading the 2026 squad to their first LEC Championship, their first NCAA Tournament appearance and victory over Husson University, and their highest single-season win total in program history.
