Bucs Close out Their Regular Season with Convincing Win over Huskies
GORHAM, Maine -- Men's lacrosse took on Southern Maine on Friday afternoon in a final tune-up before the Little East Conference Playoffs next week. Convincingly, the Buccaneers scored 20 for the fourth time this season, downing the Huskies, 20-5.

How It Happened
The Buccaneers scored their first goal 90 seconds into the first quarter and went on to score seven unanswered. With 11 seconds left in the quarter, the Huskies scored their first goal. The Bucs led 7-1 after one.
In the second, Vricella and Gambill scored for the Bucs in the opening minutes to extend the lead to 9-1. USM scored at 7:36 to make the score 9-2. In the last six minutes of the quarter, Maritime scored four more times to take an 11-goal, 13-2, lead heading to the break.
The Bucs scored the first two goals of the third quarter to get their total up to 15 goals. Then the Huskies scored to make the score 15-3. The Bucs scored two more in the third and led 17-3 at the end of three.
Southern Maine scored two goals in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter, the most goals they scored in a quarter in the game, to bring the score to 17-5. The Bucs got goals from Lynch, Bengtson, and McCutchen in the final 4:33 of the game to take the final regular season game of 2026 20-5 over the Huskies.
