Buccaneers Sail out of New York with Second Victory of the Season
HARRISON, N.Y. -- Coming off their season-opening win over Johnson & Wales on Thursday, the Bucs men's lacrosse team got right back to work on Saturday afternoon in New York against the Manhattanville Valiants and picked up right where they left off in Rhode Island. Allowing only one goal in the first half and scoring 10 of their own in the first 30 minutes, the Bucs cruised to a 22-7 win over the Valiants.

- Daniel Kane scored a game-high four goals in the win for the Buccaneers, his fourth of the game being his 100th career goal. Teddy Lynch, Joe Vricella Aiden Bengtson, Zach Gambill, and Ryan McDonough all scored twice. Chilton Cabot, Eli Ikkela, Zach Arnpriester, Mason McNulty, James Sullivan, Sawyer McCutchen, Jayson Kelleher, and Colin Fitzsimmons all scored once.
- Quinn Mucha had three assists in the game to lead all players. McDonough recorded two helpers in the win. Griffin Starr, Cabot, Lynch, Ikkela, J. Sullivan, and McCutchen all had one assist.

Manhattanville
- Frank Tallerico and Dylan Foley scored two goals apiece. Drew Palladino, Nick Corace, and Tyler Berch all scored once.
- Palladino notched three assists in the loss. Tallerico, Chris Marinaccio, and Corace all had one assist.
- Francisco Rosas led all players with seven ground balls in the game.
- On the faceoff, Chris Guazzo won four of the 14 faceoffs he took.
- Defensively, Rosas led all players with four caused turnovers.

How It Happened
Maritime scored in the first 30 seconds of the game on a goal from Sullivan, assisted by McDonough. They went on to score three more times to take a 4-0 advantage midway through the first quarter. Manhattanville scored its first goal of the game with 4:35 left in the quarter to cut its deficit to three goals, 4-1. In the final 61 seconds of the first, Maritime scored two more times to take a 6-1 lead at the end of one.
In the second, the Buccaneers did all of the scoring with four unanswered goals in the quarter, six going back to the 1:01 mark of the first quarter. Goals from McDonough, Vricella, Cabot, and Kane gave the Bucs a 10-1 lead at the break.
The Buccaneers opened the second half with two goals in the first three minutes, followed by five more unanswered, making it 13 unanswered goals going back to the first. Kane, Bengtson, Kane again, Gambill, Fitzsimmons, Vricella, and Lynch all scored to bring the score to 17-1. Then, Tallerico started a streak for the Valiants with goals at 5:55 and 5:22. Foley scored at 3:23 to make the score 17-4.
In the fourth quarter, the Buccaneers scored five more times, outscoring Manhattanville in the quarter 5-3. Goals from Arnpriester, Lynch, Ikkela, Gambill, and McCutchen ran the Buccaneers' total to 22 goals. Despite the three scored by the Valiants in the quarter, Maritime went on to win the game, 22-7, to improve to 2-0 on the season.
