BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Baseball hosted MCLA on Saturday afternoon at Hendy Field. Maritime took game one of the three-game conference series from the Trailblazers on Friday, 21-4, and on Saturday, it was the pitcher's turn to shine for the Bucs. Sean Hallissey struck out seven in a one-run complete game victory in game one, and Chase Dwight struck out five in a complete game shutout in game two.

• Nate Kaczynski and Brayden Ramsey tallied two hits each in the win. Michael Logiudice, Aidan McCarthy, Max Dunn, and Ryan Flynn had one hit each.
• Ramsey recorded a double, the only extra-base hit for the Bucs.
• Ramsey drove in three runs, and Dunn knocked in two.
• Kaczynski scored two times, and Logiudice, McCarthy, and Ramsey all scored once.

• Joshua Bissaillon, Camden Zerbato, and Joe Sardo had one hit in the loss.
• Zerbato recorded a double in the game.
• Roshan Warriar drove in the only run for the Trailblazers.

How It Happened

Maritime scored first in the bottom of the first inning on a two-RBI single by Ramsey to right field. Then, Dunn knocked in two on a single through the right side to make the score 4-0 Bucs after one.

In the top of the third, MCLA got on the board when Sarco scored on a ground ball by Warriar to third base. The Bucs led 4-1 through three.

The Buccaneers added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Ramsey double that brought in Kaczynski to score. 

Hallissey and the Buccaneer defense went on to shut down the Trailblazers the rest of the way to take a 5-1 victory in game one.

• Jake Duffy and Nate Kaczynski had two hits in the win. Jason Bouffard and Ryan Flynn added one each.
• Duffy hit a home run, and Kaczynski recorded two doubles.
• Duffy drove in two runs, and Damon White and Brayden Ramsey each drove in one.
• Duffy, White, Bouffard, and Flynn scored the four Buccaneer runs.

MCLA

• Roshan Warriar, Joshua Bissaillon, Joe Sardo, and Benjamin Jacob all had one hit in the loss.

How It Happened

The Buccaneers scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Ramsey that scored White. Maritime led 1-0 after two.

In the bottom of the fifth, White walked with the bases loaded, bringing in Flynn to score to make the score 2-0.

Duffy put the icing on the cake in the bottom of the sixth inning with a two-run home run to bring the score to 4-0.

Dwight finished the game off in the seventh to earn the Bucs the 4-0 victory and a series sweep of the Trailblazers.

What's Next

The Buccaneers are on the road on Tuesday at Westfield State for the rubber match of their conference series with the Owls. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
