Baseball Sweeps MCLA in Conference Series With Pair of Wins on Saturday
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Baseball hosted MCLA on Saturday afternoon at Hendy Field. Maritime took game one of the three-game conference series from the Trailblazers on Friday, 21-4, and on Saturday, it was the pitcher's turn to shine for the Bucs. Sean Hallissey struck out seven in a one-run complete game victory in game one, and Chase Dwight struck out five in a complete game shutout in game two.

How It Happened
Maritime scored first in the bottom of the first inning on a two-RBI single by Ramsey to right field. Then, Dunn knocked in two on a single through the right side to make the score 4-0 Bucs after one.
In the top of the third, MCLA got on the board when Sarco scored on a ground ball by Warriar to third base. The Bucs led 4-1 through three.
The Buccaneers added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Ramsey double that brought in Kaczynski to score.
Hallissey and the Buccaneer defense went on to shut down the Trailblazers the rest of the way to take a 5-1 victory in game one.

How It Happened
The Buccaneers scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Ramsey that scored White. Maritime led 1-0 after two.
In the bottom of the fifth, White walked with the bases loaded, bringing in Flynn to score to make the score 2-0.
Duffy put the icing on the cake in the bottom of the sixth inning with a two-run home run to bring the score to 4-0.
Dwight finished the game off in the seventh to earn the Bucs the 4-0 victory and a series sweep of the Trailblazers.

The Buccaneers are on the road on Tuesday at Westfield State for the rubber match of their conference series with the Owls. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
