Baseball Drops Series Opener to Salem on the Road
SALEM, Mass -- Baseball opened its MASCAC series with Salem State on the North Shore on Friday afternoon. Coming off of a win over Bridgewater State in conference midweek, the Bucs faced a setback against the Vikings, losing 10-0 in the first of three games with Salem.

How It Happened
The conference series opener between the Buccaneers and Vikings was status quo through the first three innings of play, with the score remaining 0-0.
In the bottom of the fourth, Salem took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single from Duggan, scoring Gonzalez.
The Vikings opened the floodgates in the fifth, scoring eight runs to take a 9-0 advantage heading to the sixth.
Salem added one run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a wild pitch. After the Buccaneers were retired in the top of the seventh, the game ended by run-rule, 10-0, in favor of Salem, giving the Vikings a 1-0 series lead.
