Logiudice Walks it off in Game one as part of Conference Split with Vikings
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- The Bucs hosted Salem State on Sunday in a conference doubleheader to round out their three-game MASCAC series. Coming off of a loss to the Vikings in Salem on Friday afternoon, the Buccaneers tied the series at a game apiece with a 6-5 extra-innings win in game one. In game two, the Vikings got the best of the Bucs, 9-0.

How It Happened
Salem scored one run in the second, third, and fourth innings to take a 3-0 lead midway through the game.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Maritime struck for five runs, taking a 5-3 lead. Kaczynski walked with the bases loaded to drive in Beechin. McCarthy drove in two runs on a double down the left field line to tie the game at 3-3. Then, White singled in McCarthy and Kaczynski to give the Bucs a two-run advantage.
In the top of the seventh, with their backs against the wall, Salem scored two runs, one on a wild pitch, the other on a Belgrove single, to tie the game at 5-5. The Buccaneers were kept off the board in the bottom of the seventh, and the game went to extra innings.
In the bottom of the eighth, still tied, Logiudice hit a single to center field, allowing pinch runner Krise to come around from second to score the winning run. Maritime took the first game of the doubleheader, second game of the series, 6-5.

How It Happened
Salem scored one run in the top of the first and added a second run in the top of the second. After a scoreless third, they added a third run in the top of the fourth.
In the fifth inning, the Vikings broke the game open, extending their lead from three runs to nine runs. They scored six in the fifth, including four on Gonzalez's grand slam.
The Bucs were unable to get on the board, and Salem won the game, 9-0, and the conference series, 2-1.

The Buccaneers are back at Hendy Field on Tuesday, March 31st, to play Bridgewater State in a MASCAC doubleheader beginning at 4 pm.
