How It Happened

Then, in the top of the sixth, Palmer took Wooley deep for a two-run home run, giving the Rams a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the sixth, the Bucs scored four runs, the first on a Beechin single to left center that scored McCarthy. Later in the inning, with two outs, the Rams made a catastrophic error, and instead of leading 2-1 after six innings, three more runs came in in the inning for Maritime. On the error, Beechin and White scored to make it a 3-2 game. Then, Duffy singled in Correia, giving the Buccaneers a 4-2 lead after six innings.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Buccaneers added two runs to take a 6-2 lead. McCarthy singled in Logiudice to make it 5-2, and Kaczynski scored on a passed ball to make it 6-2.
O'Rourke and the Bucs defense shut down the Rams offense in the eighth and ninth to secure the 6-2 victory.
