How It Happened

Bridgewater scored first in the bottom of the first inning on a double steal with Luna stealing second and Secovich stealing home. They led 1-0 after one.

In the top of the third, the Buccaneers scored three runs on a bases-loaded, three-RBI triple off the bat of Loughren. The Bucs led 3-1 after three innings.

The fourth and fifth innings went scoreless, and in the top of the sixth inning, the Buccaneers tacked on four runs to extend their lead to 7-1. Logiudice singled up the middle to drive in Bouffard. Loughren then reached on an error with two outs, and Duffy came in to score. Finally, White singled through the middle, bringing in Logiudice and Kaczynski.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Bridgewater scored two runs to cut the deficit to four runs, 7-3. Espinal singled down the left field line to bring in Berube, and Flaherty hit an infield single that allowed Beltramini to come in to score.

That was as close as the Bears could get as the Bucs' pitching and defense shut down the BSU offense the rest of the way, and the Buccaneers won their first conference game of the season, 7-3.
