Deveau Tallies Five Points in Loss to Worcester
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- The Buccaneers hosted Worcester State Friday night in conference play at Clean Harbors Stadium. Karah Deveau scored three times and had two assists, and Sarah Naar netted four goals in a 16-8 loss to the Lancers.

How It Happened
Worcester scored first, 17 seconds into the game, to take a 1-0 lead. The Bucs answered with Naar's first goal just over a minute later. On the ensuing draw, Worcester scored 14 seconds after Naar to take a 2-1 lead and never looked back. The Lancers went on to score four more over the next eight minutes and led 6-1 with 5:40 left in the first. Naar scored her second at 1:42, and in the final minute of the first, the Lancers scored two more to take an 8-2 lead heading to the second.
Worcester scored six seconds into the second to make the score 9-2, then scored two more at 11:27 and 8:19 to surpass 10 goals in the game, and led 11-2 with 8:19 left in the first half. Naar scored her third with 39 seconds left in the half to pull within eight goals, 11-3, and Worcester added one more with 17 seconds remaining to take a 12-3 lead heading to the break.
In the third quarter, Deveau and Naar each scored to get the score to 12-5. The Lancers scored three unanswered through the remainder of the quarter and led by 10, 15-5, heading to the fourth.
Worcester scored first in the fourth to take an 11-goal, 16-5, lead. Then, the Bucs went on a three-goal unanswered streak to end the game. Deveau scored at 9:43, O'Malley scored at 3:50, and then Deveau scored with 10 seconds remaining to make the score 16-8. The Lancers went on to win by that same score.
