Volleyball Drops Matches to Corsairs and Spartans in Vermont

CASTLETON, VT -- The Buccaneers volleyball team traveled to Vermont on Saturday to take on Little East Conference squads UMass Dartmouth and VTSU Castleton. Facing two tough teams, the Bucs lost both matches in straight sets.

 

Match One

The Basics

Final: Corsairs 3, Buccaneers 0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-13)

Records: Maritime 5-14

               UMass Dartmouth 18-7

Maritime

  • Shayla Narodowg led the Bucs with six kills. 
  • Madeleine Salinas was the team leader in assists with 10. 
  • On the serve, Narodowg had two service aces. 
  • Defensively, Holly Sanders was the team leader in digs with six.

UMass Dartmouth

  • Shayla Narodowg had a team-high 12 assists.

  • Defensively, Holly Sanders posted 22 digs in the loss.
  • At the net, Natalie Gale had a solo block and an assisted block with Ashleigh Catlett

Castleton

  • Jocelyn Ray had 12 kills in the match.
  • Alondra Rojas accumulated 30 assists in the win.
  • On the serve, Brianna Walsh had six aces.
  • Lilirose Prevost led the team in digs with 12.
  • At the net, Olivia Smith had two solo blocks.
  • The Spartans' hitting percentage was 0.229, and they scored 57 points.
