THROGGS NECK, N.Y. -- The Buccaneers volleyball team opened its season on Saturday in New York against SUNY Maritime and Mitchell College. Though the Bucs played well, they dropped both matches, 3-0, and 3-1.

Maritime
- Maliah Servino led the Bucs with 12 kills in the match. Shayla Narodowg added nine, and Natalie Gale had seven.
- Narodowg was the team leader in assists with 13, and freshman Natalie Frasca notched eight.
- On the serve, freshman Holly Sanders recorded three service aces to lead all players, and Frasca had two.
- Sanders led the Buccaneers defensively with 19 digs.

- At the net, Miranda Hamilton had a sol oblock and two assisted blocks.
