Sullivan Named Little East Conference Rookie of the Year

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Wednesday morning, the Little East Conference announced its postseason awards and All-Conference teams. Freshman midfielder James Sullivan has been selected as the conference's Rookie of the Year for 2025. This is the second consecutive year that the Bucs men's lacrosse team earned the LEC Rookie of the Year Award.

Sullivan played in 16 games this season, having started 15 of them. He scored 35 goals and racked up 24 assists for 59 points in his first year as a Buccaneers. On the defensive end of the field, he caused 12 turnovers and picked up 27 ground balls on the season. 

During the year, James was named Conference Rookie of the Week five times. His year was highlighted by a five-goal performance in the Bucs Admiral's Cup win over Maine Maritime with five goals. He notched four assists in the team's opener against Johnson & Wales. Defensively, he caused three turnovers against Manhattanville early in the season. On three occasions, he tallied six points in a game, which came against Johnson & Wales (two goals, four assists), Maine Maritime (five goals, one assist), and Eastern Connecticut (three goals, three assists).
