Dalton and Tully Earn Spots on the MASCAC Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference Team
WESTFIELD, Mass -- Following the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet on Saturday, the conference announced its men's track & field All-MASCAC Team. To qualify for the All-Conference squad, you have to have won your individual event in the meet. Freshman William Dalton and sophomore Joey Tully did just that to earn their spots on the team.
Dalton was the winner of the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 49.97 seconds. He was victorious in the event by .02 seconds. He continuously improved in the 400-meter all season as he was eighth at the Bonnie Edmundson Invitational at Eastern Connecticut the week before the MASCAC Championship, finishing with a time of 51.68 seconds. Earlier in the season at Fitchburg, he finished with a time of 52.18 seconds.
Tully won the men's high jump event at the meet with a best mark of 1.92 meters. Joey had an outstanding season in the high jump, winning the event at the Silfin Invitational at Conn College and at the Corsair Classic at UMass Dartmouth. He finished second at the Bonnie Edmundson Invitational at Eastern Connecticut and the Jim Sheehan Invitational at Fitchburg State. At UMass Dartmouth, he posted a best mark of 1.98 meters, setting a new Buccaneer men's Track & Field program record.
