Track & Field Competes at Sheehan Invite
FITCHBURG, Mass -- The Bucs track and field teams took part in the Jim Sheehan Invitational at Fitchburg State on Saturday, just a day after competing in the Regis Spring Classic.
Jamaric McZeal finished fourth overall in the 100-meter final with a time of 11.12 seconds. He also finished 17th in the 200-meter race.
In the 800-meter run, Collin Fine finished seventh overall with a time of 2:14.32.
Emerson Donbrindt picked up a seventh-place finish in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 38:44.90.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Brennan Shea finished fifth overall with a time of 16.51 seconds, .04 seconds behind the fourth-place finisher.
Spencer Reese finished fifth in the 3000-meter steeple chase with a time of 10:17.25.
The Buccaneers 4x100 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of John Carlson, Jamaric McZeal, Luke Canniff, and Demetri Boozer, finished fourth overall with a final time of 45.50 seconds.
Maritime won the 4x800-meter relay over Fitchburg State by 31 seconds thanks to a solid performance from William Browne, Cole Guiliani, Jackson Holschuh, and Fine.
In the shot put, Joseph Hyman finished sixth overall with a toss of 11.53 meters.
Liam Higgins and Tyler Fountain finished second and third in the javelin with throws of 59.75 meters and 50.30 meters, respectively.
Timothy Heath picked up a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a best of 6.39 meters.
On the women's side, Matilda Laux finished fifth in the 400-meter race with a time of 1:05.90.
Lorelei Lee was the 3000-meter steeple chase winner with a time of 13:43.14.
Bridgette Boriolo was the sixth-place finisher in the triple jump with a best of 9.77 meters. In the long jump, she finished seventh with a jump of 4.54 meters.
