How It Happened

Maritime came out strong in the first set playing out to a three-point, 4-1, lead and then a five-point, 10-5, advantage. They held the lead from wire to wire getting that lead up to nine points at one point. Though the Rams started a late charge, the Bucs held on for the 25-22 win in the first game.

In the second game, The Bucs held an early lead, 5-2 then 8-7 later. Framingham found momentum thanks to their strong offense and a few Maritime miscues and scored six unanswered to take a 13-8 lead. Framingham, down a game, surged late allowing the Bucs to score nine points as they ran away with the second set, 25-17, to tie the match at 1-1.

The third set saw the Bucs lead early once again but the Rams didn't wait as long this time to take the lead and hold on to it. Up four late, 19-15, Framingham watch the Bucs score three unanswered to pull within one. Then, down 24-19, Maritime clawed back again to make the score 24-22. The Rams would get the final point they needed to win the set, 25-22, and take a 2-1 match lead.

In set four, Maritime was competitive though they could not stop the Rams from taking the match on their home court. When they took a 4-3 lead early, Framingham held that lead until the end of the set winning by five, 25-20, and taking the match by a 3-1 final score.
