Mike Bois has picked up right where he left off with the Massachusetts Maritime football team. Through the first two games, a pair of losses, the junior linebacker has a team-high 18 tackles (13 solo).
The 5-foot-10-inch, 190-pound tricaptain recorded a career-high 10 solo tackles in a season-opening 15-12 loss at New York Maritime in the 4th annual Chowder Bowl, earning a selection on the New England Football Conference weekly honor roll. He added eight tackles (three solo) in a 30-6 loss at Western New England College on Sept. 11.

Coach Jeremy Cameron said Bois, a two-year starter, provides strength and leadership for this young defensive unit. Bois was the team’s top defensive performer in 2009 with 75 tackles, one interception, one sack, and a forced fumble.

“Mike seems to be in the middle of every play, and that’s a testament to both his ability and work ethic,’’ Cameron said. “He’s emerged as one of our team leaders, and with a young group we have on defense, his experience will play a large role in our success.’’

Massachusetts Maritime closes out a three-game road trip Saturday at MIT before opening its home schedule on Sept. 25th against Coast Guard.
