BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Second half goals by freshmen Jacob Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) and James Roland (Fairfield, Conn.), coupled with a nine-save effort in net by senior Mike Pruchnik (Rochester, Mass.), lifted Massachusetts Maritime to a 2-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer victory over Framingham State Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Crawford gave the host Buccaneers (5-8, 3-2 MASCAC) the only tally they would need in the 60th minute of play when he converted a crossing pass from sophomore Tyler Haynes (Bridgewater, Mass.) for his third marker of the season, and Roland iced the triumph with his second goal of the fall that came on a breakaway with 59 seconds remaining and lifted Massachusetts Maritime into third place in the conference standings with just two league matches to play.

Pruchnik picked up his fourth win and third shutout of the season by making six of his nine stops in the final 45 minutes of play for the Buccaneers, as the clean sheet was the fifth of his career.  Sophomore Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass.) suffered the setback in goal for the visiting Rams (7-8, 3-2 MASCAC) by making three second half saves in relief of senior Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.), who also recorded three stops in net in the opening half.  Framingham State outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 15-12 margin overall (9-8 on goal) and took five of the seven corner kicks in the contest, as the Buccaneers posted their fourth straight victory in the series with the Rams dating back to 2014.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Coast Guard in a non-league clash on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Framingham State heads into Boston on Tuesday evening for a non-league match with Emerson that begins at 6:00 p.m.
